Description
Windrush Intergenerational Project 2026 This film has been created by Zack Thomas as part of Oxford’s Windrush 2026 programme. The film talks about some of the reasons why the contribution of the Windrush Generation and descendants are so significant in Oxford, and highlights some of the research that has been undertaken into why people travelled here from the Caribbean to live and work. The film includes qoutes from Caribbean people of this generation, retelling their experiences and talking about how the Caribbean community stuck together during hard times. You can visit the exhibitions in the Museum of Oxford and the Ashmolean Museum to find out more about some of the displays shown in the film. The Windrush 2026 project was funded by the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government’s Windrush day Grant Scheme, administered by Near Neighbours.
