Title
Oxford Nightlife in the 1980s: Memories from My Uncle Kelvin
Description
My uncle Kelvin remembers nights out in Oxford shaped by music and the venues people went to. He recalls Minchery Farm, a nightlife venue in Littlemore, where disco, electro and funk played late into the night, as well as travelling out to Rivers in Benson. A big part of the experience for him was getting ready for a night out; back then people made a big effort with dress sense and fashion. His memories also include clubs around Oxford, from basement spaces with resident DJs to venues near the old ice rink.
