The topic of the resource
Do you know our Town Hall well? Have you worked here? Did you come to the Rolling Stones gig, or attended a wedding? Do you have old photographs, tickets, memorabilia you could share?
Scan or photograph them and add to this database for everyone to see.
We are also looking to collect oral histories. If you have memories of the Town Hall which you would like to be recorded, get in touch with Marta at mlomza@oxford.gov.uk. We will match you with a trained volunteer who will record your memories. We will share the recordings on this website and in the Museum (due to open in late 2020).

British Dental Association ball at the Oxford Town Hall
Description
An account of the resource
This is an invitation to the 1963 British Dental Association ball held at the Oxford Town Hall on Tuesday 23rd July, 1963. My grandfather Eric Fletcher was a dentist on Beaumont Street for many years and he and my grandmother Shelagh used to attend lots of dances. After my grandmother passed away last year we began sorting through their things and found lots of invitations to various Dental Association balls held in Oxford.
I really like the embossing of the Oxford coat of arms and that you can see where a mistake was made on the date which has been coloured over! My grandmother was delighted when I started working for the Museum of Oxford in the Town Hall - she always said that the Town Hall had the best loos in Oxford!
